Watch out for that axe!

Traditionally grind core has lead the way in being the fastest, most brutal, and to some people the most un- listenable form of extreme music ever created. Typically the songs consist of undecipherable vocal leads backed up by guitar tracks that sound like chainsaws and held together by blasting drum beats that sound more like a CD skipping than actual fluid rhythms. Then On October 20 2009 the band Converge released their album "Axe To Fall" seemingly crumbling up the old idea of grind core, throwing it away, and drawing up their new design of what the genre can be. Ten years ago you never would have found a melody layered over top of a blast beat, unless your Swedish. For some reason the Swedes always happen to about 10 years ahead of American metal bands. However, they still have yet to produce a band that sounds anything like the boys in Converge. which leads me to come to the conclusion that Converges new ablum, axe to fall, is pretty metal, dude.
