Marvel comics has always been a place for people to go to read and look at fantastical heroes saving the day and seeking justice. Of all the characters they have created one stands out the most, Captain America. Created as a propoganda tool during WWII, Cap has always been used to inspire hope in the American people. But he has not always been used in the traditional way like in WWII. When the Vietnam war began to look grim in the late 60's, marvel writers killed off cap claiming he went down fighting an injust war. since then Cap has gone back and forth as the writers desire but he always reprsents some aspect of the American delima.
